Job description

Salary: $16.50/hour

ABOUT US: Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces. Our KASPER program (Kids After School Program with Enrichment and Recreation) provides before and after school care to over 900 children at the following SD54 schools and sites: Aldrin, Blackwell, Campanelli, Churchill, Collins, Dirksen, Dooley, Enders Salk, Hale, Hoover and Nerge schools, and the Community Recreation Center and Meineke Recreation Center.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the KASPER Site Coordinator and the Assistant Site Coordinator, the Counselor is responsible for creating, organizing, and leading a wide variety of recreational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: The best applicants will love working with children (some prior experience is a plus!), demonstrate regular and reliable attendance, be self-directed but also work well with others, and present themselves as a good positive role model.


SCHEDULING & PAY: Interested applicants must be available Monday through Friday. KASPER has positions for both morning KASPER 7am 8:30am and afternoon KASPER 3pm 6pm. These positions begin on August 4, 2026 and end around May 26, 2027. The hiring rate for this position is $16.50/hour.
