  • Install hydraulic and mechanical steering systems.
  • Properly route and secure wiring, cables, hoses, and rigging components for a clean, professional installation.
  • Complete final system checks and testing to verify proper operation.

Marine Electronics & Accessories

  • Install GPS units, fish finders, chartplotters, transducers, trolling motors, stereos, batteries, switches, gauges, and other marine accessories.
  • Install and troubleshoot 12V and 24V marine electrical systems.
  • Read and follow wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and manufacturer service information.
  • Configure and test electronics and accessories following installation.
  • Diagnose installation-related electrical or operational issues when necessary.
  • Ensure all installations meet dealership and manufacturer quality standards.

Boat Setup & Quality Control

  • Prepare new and pre-owned boats for customer delivery.
  • Inspect completed rigging to ensure components are installed correctly and safely.
  • Test steering, controls, electronics, accessories, batteries, and engine systems before delivery.
  • Identify additional repairs, parts, or installation needs and communicate them to Service leadership.
  • Correct installation concerns before units are released to customers.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional workmanship throughout every installation.

Shop & Team Support

  • Work closely with Marine Technicians, Service Advisors, Parts personnel, and dealership leadership.
  • Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Accurately document completed work and parts used.
  • Follow dealership and manufacturer safety procedures.
  • Assist with other Service Department needs as required.

Requirements

  • Previous professional marine rigging experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience installing and rigging outboard engines.
  • Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, including 12V and 24V systems.
  • Experience installing marine electronics, steering systems, controls, gauges, and accessories.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and manufacturer service information.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and marine-specific equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with pride in producing clean, professional installations.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, or other major outboard brands.
  • Previous marine dealership or boat manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with complete new-boat rigging and repowers.
  • OEM or manufacturer training/certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with trolling motors, GPS/chartplotters, fish finders, transducers, and other modern marine electronics.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, hands-on position in both shop and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds as required.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in confined areas of boats.
  • Overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required based on service volume.

Why Join Boater's World Marine Centers?

  • Work hands-on with boats, outboards, electronics, and leading marine brands.
  • Consistent opportunity to expand your technical and rigging skills.
  • Factory training and professional development opportunities.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
