BOAT PATCH TECHNICIAN
Sailfish boats is searching for Boat Patch Technicians
  • Examines parts for mold and lamination defects, such as cracks, air pockets, and cosmetic flaws
  • Uses independent judgment for corrective action/repair
  • Grinds out defective areas, smoothes rough edges/areas with appropriate power and hand-tools
  • Cuts fiberglass; mixes resin and catalyst, applies patch to defective area
  • Shape and smooth edges to match contour of area to be patched
  • Mixes gel coat with catalyst and sprays repaired surfaces
  • Buffs and polishes repaired gel coat surfaces
  • Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area
  • All work to be performed and manufactured to Seminole Marine’s quality standards
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working hours on your feet, etc
  • Perform other related duties as deemed necessary and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
*Experience is welcome, we do offer training if you have the skills to perform the given duties
  • Must have keen attention to detail
  • Ability to follow a work schedule
  • Dexterity to use sanding tools, buffers
  • Understand the function of different chemicals and compounds
  • Must be able to understand all safety related document and work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to Management and Human Resources immediately
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirator etc.
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working hours on your feet, etc.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related documents and work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
