Job description

About Goliath
Goliath is an international manufacturer and distributor of toys and games, operating in 15 countries and reaching more than 100 countries worldwide. At the heart of our business is a belief in great products and the magic of innovation. Our mission is to bring fun to every household through teamwork, creativity, and collaboration.
We are looking for a Graphic Designer with experience in board games, tabletop games, toys, or related consumer products to join our creative team. This role will work across the full game experience, from packaging and game boards to cards, components, instructions, and supporting materials.
Position Summary
The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing creative, high-quality artwork for Goliath's games and products. This includes packaging, game components, instruction manuals, retail displays, and other supporting graphics.
This position works closely with the Art Director, Brand Management, Project Management, Product Development, and other cross-functional teams to take projects from initial concept through final production.
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Creative Development
  • Design artwork for game packaging, game boards, cards, components, instruction manuals, retail displays, and supporting materials.
  • Develop creative concepts based on game themes, target audiences, and brand direction.
  • Create layouts with strong typography, composition, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Create and modify packaging dielines using existing templates and custom specifications.
  • Develop logos, icons, patterns, and other supporting graphics as needed.
  • Stay current on trends in board games, toys, packaging, entertainment, retail, and pop culture.
Production & Artwork Management
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready artwork for manufacturing.
  • Preflight, package, and organize artwork files for production.
  • Verify imagery, product descriptions, logos, legal copy, component details, and other required elements before artwork is released.
  • Ensure artwork meets packaging dielines and manufacturing specifications.
  • Maintain organized files and version control throughout the design process.
  • Assist with photo editing and image preparation as needed.
Collaboration & Project Management
  • Work closely with the Art Director, Project Managers, Brand Management, Product Development, and other teams throughout the development process.
  • Manage multiple projects at different stages while balancing changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Incorporate creative and production feedback efficiently while maintaining design quality.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional graphic design and production experience in an agency, studio, or in-house creative environment.
  • Experience designing for board games, tabletop games, toys, game packaging, or a closely related physical consumer product category.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong packaging and product-focused graphic design. Board game or tabletop work is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and print production.
  • Experience preparing production-ready files and prepress artwork.
  • Consumer packaging and dieline experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working on a Mac platform.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Additional experience with game boards, cards, components, rulebooks, licensed brands, illustration, logo design, 3D rendering, large-format graphics, or photo editing is a plus.
Benefits
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Flexible spending and health savings accounts
  • Paid time off
  • The opportunity to work in a creative, collaborative toy and game environment

Please include a portfolio with your application. Candidates with board game, tabletop game, toy, or game packaging experience are strongly encouraged to highlight that work in their portfolio.
