What are boars?

Boars are wild pigs belonging to the species Sus scrofa. They are native to much of Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and have been introduced to other parts of the world. Boars are known for their stout bodies, bristly hair, and prominent tusks. They play an important role in their ecosystems by foraging for roots, bulbs, and small animals, which helps aerate the soil. Some cultures also hunt boars for food and sport.
