Job description

Position Summary: The Vice President, Client Processing Manager will be responsible for handling Complex LC structuring and manage the LC life cycle for High-priority Trade clients by providing timely and quality support to the clients in facilitating their transactions and processes.  This role may also involve working with various stakeholders like Clients, FIs and NBFIs, simultaneously.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • As a documentary credit specialist, provide comprehensive training to the team in issuance, confirmation vetting, and document examination processes, while developing a skilled workforce to meet client requirements and support business objectives.
  • Ensure transactions and inquiries of High-priority clients are handled timely and accurately.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge and expertise on service offerings, proactive assessment and resolution of complex transaction issues.
  • Assist Product and Relationship team with Operational/ transactional insights to manage client expectations.
  • Participate in the risk and control committee and mitigate inherent and residual risk of the processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex problems and guide less experienced staff in resolving the same. Responsible for crafting solutions and methods to resolve issues at hand and similar issues in the future.
  • Responsible for structuring LC & Guarantees vetting by collaborating with the Clients, Legal, Product, Risk & Compliance.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment, leading a team is required.
  • Leads workflow optimization and process improvement using best practices and technology.
  • Provides expert guidance on service offerings and resolves complex transaction issues.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 

  • Typically 5-8 years of experience in transaction processing or related field within financial services.
  • 10+ years in Trade Finance domain (LC, Document Examination, Guarantees/ Standby LC) is required.  Well versed with UCP, URDG and ISP guidelines is preferred. Applicable local / regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.  Trade Certifications (example: CDCS, CSDG etc.) is added advantage.
  • A strong knowledge of Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Boycott guidelines, as well as their relevance to Trade Finance, is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required.  
    • Advanced degree or professional certifications in finance or business administration preferred.
