Compensation: SALARY $120K - $150K
Job Description
Purpose: The Collision Center Manager runs an efficient and profitable collision repair department through productive staffing, associate retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all work performed records. Ensures that staff assigned to the collision department is working in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend trade walks daily
• Schedule all internal collision work
• Direct and dispatch technicians and/or detailers specified RO's
• Create and maintain schedule for collision technicians and other associates
• Monitors daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records
• Facilitate Writing and Booking all Used Car RO's
• Facilitate Ordering Parts and Billing out Parts for Used Vehicles
• Facilitate sending out sublets, keeping day to day track of their progress
• Properly posting all sublets to appropriate RO
• Maintain service and detail timelines (turns) within 3 to 5 days (Pay Plan Based)
• Insuring that vendor repairs are approved and consistent in pricing with negotiated pricing
• Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
• Responsible for hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of collision department staff
• Monitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys
• Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with other departments • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
• Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing and all are processed correctly
• Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends associates to appropriate training schools as needed
• Monitors and follows up on all parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability
• Maintains high-quality reconditioning standards and minimizes comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
• Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases • Ensures that the work areas are kept clean and free of workplace hazards
• Ensures the proper care, storage and inventory of special tools
• Attends managers' meetings as scheduled
• Maintains a professional appearance and that of the recon team
• Realize that the company's business is built on guest satisfaction and devote himself/herself to guaranteeing satisfaction to guests
• Determine management, production and quality requirements by asking questions and listening
• Attend Sonic meetings as requested
• Maintain a follow-up system that encourages follow through with assigned projects • Establish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals
• Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively
• Understand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in the product
• Know and understand the federal, state and local requirements which govern the company's business
• Follow directions from a supervisor
• Understand and follow work rules and procedures
• Accept constructive criticism
• Interact well with others and be a positive influence on associate morale
• Must sign voluntarily the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement and be able to be faithful to its provisions
