Job description

Position Title: BMW Specialized Mechanic – Cincinnati Area
Reports To: Owner
Effective Date: May 1, 2026
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Primary Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for diagnostics, repair, and maintenance services for all models of BMW automobiles.
Essential Functions:
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Skilled in using manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
  • Mechanical Repair: Performs repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, and drivetrains unique to European platforms.
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems: Experienced with CAN-bus systems, sensors, modules, and modern driver-assistance technologies.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conducts routine services such as oil changes, inspections, fluid exchanges, and tune-ups following European manufacturer standards.
  • Performance and Precision: Understands the engineering philosophy behind European vehicles, ensuring repairs meet high performance and safety expectations.

Qualifications:
General Automotive Education:
  • Degree or certificate from an automotive technology school (e.g., UTI, Lincoln Tech, community college programs).
  • BMW graduate or equivalent BMW factory training 2+ years in an independent European shop.
  • Experience using BMW ISTA, autel, or autologic diagnostic tools.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical systems training.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications:
  • A1-A8 (Automobile Technician series).
  • L1 (Advanced Engine Performance).
  • L3 (Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist).

Preferred Experience:
  • Entry-level: 2+ years schooling.
  • Mid-level: 2-5 years working on European Vehicles.
  • Master-level: 5+ years, ASE Master Tech, and BMW or European training.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly rate range: $20.00 to $38.00 ($40,000 - $76,000 annual pay) based on skill and experience evaluation.
  • Two weeks paid vacation.
  • 401(k) with employer match percentage.
  • Paid training.
