Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist

IT Infrastructure Library Foundations certification (ITILv3 or higher)
SUMMARY
The Service Asset Configuration Management (SACM) Section provides operational support to
maximize the organization's capabilities and readiness. The objective of the SACM Section is to
provide IT Asset and Configuration Management to the organization for both Continental US
(CONUS) and Outside Continental US (OCONUS) locations. The section ensures hardware,
software, virtual and other service assets/configuration items are properly managed throughout
their lifecycle, to include their relationships and dependencies to other related configuration items and associated changes requests. Operational changes to the environment are administratively updated into a Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes and reconcile large volumes of data to identify discrepancies, assess findings, and develop effective data mitigation strategies.
Manages and tracks all customer service assets and configuration items, ensuring accurate records and accountability.
Prepares and maintains status reports and lifecycle documentation; supports verification processes and audit activities.
Conducts physical configuration audits in collaboration with government personnel at major U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) sites to establish and maintain accurate configuration baselines. Performs impact assessments of proposed changes, evaluating system dependencies to inform decision-making.
Research lifecycle information and product bulletins for hardware and software to support sustainment planning and refresh/replacement strategies for end-of-life systems.
Apply subject matter expertise in IT Asset Management and Configuration Management to support operations in alignment with Customer SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management) standard operating procedures.
Creates and manages requests to update objects within the Remedy system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
IAT II (CCNA Security, CYSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, SSCP)
IT Infrastructure Library Foundations certification (ITILv3 or higher)
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
2-3 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support
Familiarization with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, practices, and procedures
Mid-Level understanding of Microsoft Excel

Environmental Conditions
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
