Job description

JOB DETAILS: Grows and develops a high-performance engineering team. Regularly meets with executive leadership team to discuss growth within market segments and emerging technologies. Researches and identifies new technologies and implements them into standard projects and designs. Manages overall responsibilities for the system design and engineering deliverables for each project. Directs Electrical and Structural/Civil Engineers and Drafters within the project. Acts as technical Point-of-Contact (POC) for the customer. Conducts internal design reviews and drives open items to closure. Conducts design reviews and verifies the design quality following engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Controls project expenditures within the limits of the project budget. Develops the master project schedule, plus creation of component or milestone schedules, and manages the technical team to the overall schedule. Participates in requirements planning and documentation, conceptual designs, make/buy analyses, design documentation, and design reviews. Defines product specifications and incorporates into overall design strategy and technology. Reviews design drawings including single-line and three-line diagrams, electrical layouts, AC/DC schematics, cable and conductor schedules and conduit details. Reviews designs and performs energy modeling and calculations for solar projects. Reviews outputs from PVsyst and Helioscope to optimize the performance of solar projects. Reviews feasibility of designs working with vendors, engineers, and field technicians. Documents technical risks and properly manages them throughout each project.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR'S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD PLUS 8 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE AS A SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION.

Special Requirements: EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF:

* Consumer electronics experience shipping and maintaining hundred of thousands of devices.

* Operating systems concepts such as thread scheduling, context switching and memory management is required.

* Designing and optimizing the key system characteristics of usability, performance, scalability, and security.

* Software at all levels: kernel, middleware, application, server.

* Software test methodologies, test planning, test automation, test tooling, and quality standards and metrics.

* Embedded, multi-platform, and distributed software systems. Successful track record combining disparate platforms (Software & Hardware) involving high-end computing down to dedicated/embedded devices, and complex software involving sophisticated algorithms, hardware control, data integration, Network communication, Bluetooth and automotive interfaces.

SALARY OFFERED: $186,222 - $190,000 year
