This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will work on designing and developing key mechanical ground systems for Blue Origin's new launch site at LC-36 (Cape Canaveral, FL). You'll have the unique opportunity to be part of a great team building the mechanical and structural systems and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) needed for Blue Origin's giant rocket, New Glenn!

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical and structural design solutions to support various Launch Pad systems.
  • Create CAD models and drawings, and provide FEA and hand‑calculations for complex mechanical systems.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle (including fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, aerospace engineering, or similar disciplines.
  • 10+ years experience with a strong background in design/analysis/construction of large and complex mechanical systems (i.e. mechanisms, launch vehicle GSE, aerospace tooling, oil/gas structures, movable structures, etc).
  • Mechanical design experience using CAD (Creo/Windchill preferred), hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
  • Experience in heavy‑duty mechanism design (i.e. locking/clamps mechanisms, linkage design, quick release systems, alignment mechanisms, restraint/catch systems, etc).
  • Experience designing and analyzing bolted and welded assemblies.
Desired
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • PE license (Mechanical).
  • 2+ years direct GSE design and analysis experience.
