Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of our RAS facility's equipment and systems. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to maintaining optimal water quality, fish health, and overall facility performance.

Job Description:

  1. Assist with regular inspections and preventive maintenance on RAS equipment such as pumps, filters, heat exchangers, and mechanical components to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions in RAS equipment, including mechanical systems and components.
  3. Assist in the installation, calibration, and replacement of new or upgraded mechanical equipment and components.
  4. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs performed.
  5. Respond promptly to facility emergencies and mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime and prevent any adverse impacts on fish health and facility operations.
  6. Follow all maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and best practices to improve facility efficiency and reliability.
  7. Collaborate with other team members and fish farmers to optimize facility performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement process improvements.
  1. Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
  2. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  3. Proactively work to achieve compliance with safety systems

Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work

  • 1+ years of experience in hands-on mechanical work including pump repairs/refurbishment/rebuild, pipe fitting, scaffolding, plumbing, pneumatic valve repair required
  • HVAC experience desired
  • Wastewater experience desired
  • Metal & Plastic welding experience is a plus
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work in complex multi-tasking environments
  • Constant desire to learn and grow.

Work Environment
This job operates in a farm/production environment.

Schedule

  • Day Shift – 7 am to 4:30 pm Rotating Days Same Shift
  • Afternoon Shift – 4 pm to 12:30 am Rotating Days Same Shift
  • Overtime as needed.
  • Weekends and after Hours as needed
