New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State currently has an immediate opening for a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician in our Batavia, NY location.


New York Bus Sales is a full-service dealership offering sales, service, parts and graphics. We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs.


JOB SUMMARY

The Primary Function of the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician is to perform pre-delivery inspections on all types of buses. The PDI Tech will modify non-compliant buses to meet customer and DOT specifications.

SUPERVISION 

Supervision- the PDI Technician performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to the supervisor's guidelines. Most assignments are completed with little supervision. 

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand DOT requirements with relation to School and Commercial buses.
  • Read and understand PDI work orders as to what is required on the bus.
  • Modify each bus, if necessary, to meet DOT and customer specifications with regards to seat placement, air systems, chassis and body.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with DOT inspector and work with them on inspection day.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.



Full-time, Monday thru Friday, Day shift.

Requirements

Required Qualifications Include: 

  • Knowledge of DOT requirements for commercial and school vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Read and understand DOT and Blue Bird specification sheets.
