Compensation

The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $22.30. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Mold Machine Operator!
In this job you will mold a variety of epoxy parts and may perform other tasks such as sandblasting and painting of molded epoxy parts. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and must meet requirements within time constraints driven by machine cycles ranging from 7 minutes to 22 minutes. Tasks require a high degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools such as knives, scrapers, engravers and air-impact tools. As a Mold Machine Operator, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate injection molding machine, ensuring the smooth and efficient production of simple polymer components.
  • Review job orders and simple blueprints to understand molding requirements.
  • Set up molds, adjust parameters, and monitor production, maintaining optimal operating conditions for the machinery.
  • Cycle molding machine and monitor its progress while performing secondary operations such as deflashing, inspection, visual and mechanical application of lubricating grease, and packaging of finished product.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, following quality assurance guidelines and escalating quality issues when needed.
  • Use hand tools like files, hammer, scrapper, air nozzle to blow off excess and clean molds, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of equipment.
  • Apply silicone mold release with a brush to ensure things don't stick, facilitating efficient production processes.
  • Perform sandblasting operations as required.
  • Document completed jobs, ensuring accuracy and prompt reporting of issues.
  • Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll Need To Succeed:
  • 1+ year of machine operation experience in a production environment.
  • High School/GED diploma required.
  • Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
  • Basic knowledge of machine controls and programs.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments. Able to escalate and explain issues to team leads and supervisors as needed.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
  • Good critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems and understand efforts to improve processes.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to complete precise tasks and follow instructions accurately.
