SUMMARY

This role is part of an integrated PR & social media team and supports the execution of strategic earned, owned and social media programs for a variety of clients. The PR & Social Media Associate plays a key role in supporting media relations, social media management, content development, and reporting efforts across multiple accounts.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with junior-level experience creating social and written content, creating PR materials and media lists, and supporting integrated communications campaigns. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative and eager to stay ahead of industry trends across PR, social media and digital content.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS

  • Support day-to-day execution of public relations and social media campaigns for multiple clients
  • Assist with media relations efforts, including media list development, monitoring, research and pitching support
  • Assist in the development of monthly social media content calendars and editorial planning
  • Develop engaging social media content aligned with platform best practices, brand voice and campaign goals, in collaboration with creative, video and/or content team
  • Write and edit content across channels, including social posts, blogs, articles, media materials and other communications assets
  • Manage daily community engagement and monitoring across social media platformsย 
  • Schedule and publish content using social media management tools such as Sprout Social
  • Identify, research and engage with relevant influencers and content creators
  • Monitor trends, cultural conversations and media opportunities that support client goals
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports highlighting campaign and social performance
  • Participate in client meetings and maintain professional client communication
  • Adhere to project deadlines and budgeted/assigned hours

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • Up to 2 years of experience supporting public relations and/or social media campaigns
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, advertising, English or related field preferred
  • Exceptional writing, editing and organizational skills, including experience writing blog or long-form content
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communications best practices
  • Experience identifying, engaging and coordinating with influencers, content creators and brand advocates to support integrated PR and social media campaigns
  • Ability to create light graphics and social content production work in Canva, as well as develop polished, engaging client presentations in Google Slides aligned with brand and agency standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Agency internship or prior agency experience preferred
  • Experience with Sprout Social, Canva, MuckRack, Meta Business Manager, Google Suite, Google Analytics and Monday.com, a plus
  • Weekend and outside-schedule work may occasionally be required due to events, breaking news or the social media news cycle; travel may be included
