About the Role

The Global Head of Advanced Engineering is a senior executive responsible for leading the execution of Invesco's global strategy for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced engineering. This leader will drive enterprise-wide AI adoption and implementation, oversee the design, development and deployment of advanced AI solutions, and ensure alignment with Invesco's strategic priorities and business objectives. The role requires a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, a strong track-record of leadership within large-scale technology organizations, and the ability to translate complex technological advancements into measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision

    • Partner with Innovation and Technology leadership to define and execute an AI and advanced engineering strategy aligned with Invesco's long-term vision, business objectives and growth priorities.

    • Educate and influence senior leaders on the strategic potential of AI and advanced technologies, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

  • Innovation & Technology Development

    • Collaborate with Innovation and Technology leadership to identify, evaluate and adopt emerging trends in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced engineering to sustain Invesco's competitive edge.

    • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global team of advanced engineers and technologists, promoting technical excellence, accountability, and ongoing professional development.

  • Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Partner closely with business leaders to understand strategic priorities, identify opportunities for AI-enabled transformation, and translate those opportunities into validated use cases and actionable delivery plans.

    • Oversee the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable AI solutions that support business outcomes, ensuring strong governance, security, and ethical standards.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Establish and optimize processes for AI model lifecycle management, data governance, and technology delivery, including the adoption of modern delivery models (e.g., Digital Factory models).

    • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and alignment with Invesco's risk management and control frameworks.

    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that attracts, develops, and retains top talent in AI and advanced engineering.

Requirements of the Role

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years in AI, machine learning, or advanced engineering domains.

  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on development, application and enterprise architecture, and multi-cloud technologies (AWS / Azure)

  • Demonstrated success in building and leading global, high-performing technical teams, with specific examples of leading Development and Implementation teams.

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale AI/ML solutions in complex, regulated environments (preferably in financial services or related industries).

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, data science, cloud platforms, solution architecture, and modern engineering practices.

  • Experience with scenario planning, risk identification, and business strategy alignment.

  • Strong external network and credibility in the AI/technology ecosystem.

  • Experience in Blockchain and Tokenization technologies, and or an understanding of Tokenization economics, would be a distinct advantage

  • Experience with CoPilot Studio will be a distinct advantage
