Job description

Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree. Must be a prior Fire Control Technician (Submarines) with at least 2 tours (6+ years).
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
We are looking for a prior Fire Control Technician (Submarines) with at least 6 years onboard U.S. Navy Submarines to help design, develop and deliver support products for the Tactical Control System AN/BYG-1 Submarine Fire Control System. Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and experience with the submarine fleet combat system, AN/BYG-1.

We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers' missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.
Showing initiative and exercising judgement, you'll design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot and provide technical skills during research and/or product development, analyze effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources and design systems, software and equipment layout. Participating on the engineering work team, you'll develop, implement, install, test, modify and/or operate complex equipment and systems as well as support other team members concerning experiment design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance and related issues.

  • Review and provide feedback on draft and preliminary maintenance documents and technical manuals
  • Validate test procedures during testing events both in the lab and on submarines, sometimes requiring shift work
  • Create operations and maintenance procedures for technical manuals and training documents
  • Travel to support Navy customers in a lab based environment
  • Technologies that aren't just top-notch, they're often top-secret

What you bring to the table:
  • Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting procedures; experience writing procedures a plus.
  • Ability to prepare documentation in a variety of formats (e.g. .doc, .PDF, HTML and XML).
  • Familiarity with military documentation and current DoD specifications and standards including, but not limited to, MIL-STD-1472, Tag-Out User's Manual, and MIL-STD-236
  • Experience developing military curriculum and/or giving military training required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel a must)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of military/commercial requirements/specifications

  • Previous Navy experience onboard U.S Navy Submarines is a must
  • Qualified FTOW (Fire Control Technician Of the Watch)
  • Previous experience developing Navy training documents and material
  • Employs Instructional Design practices to design curriculum to support operations and maintenance training
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work well under pressure
  • Proven conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated skills consistent with a team-based work environment
  • Qualified Master Training Specialist - not required, but is a plus
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

  • Willingness to travel and perform duties onboard naval vessels or in lab environments.
