Job Summary

The Blending Supervisor will support the Recycling Department Assistant Manager/Raw Materials and the Recycling Department Manager in achieving the Department KPI's in the remelting operation. Position will directly manage inventory and assist with blending operations to achieve maximum PU scrap utilization, minimize prime utilization rates while efficiently managing and utilizing in-house scrap. This role will work within the Cast House Department, specifically with the Ingot Receivers and Chief Furnace Operators to ensure proper execution of scrap segregation, charge planning and least cost blending. This position reports to the Cast House Manager.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience within the casthouse or equivalent.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Remelting Process.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports and procedures. 
  • Effective project management skills, self-motivated, team oriented, timely, problem-solving skills, excellent record keeping and documentation skills. 
  • Computer skills required in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be highly motivated and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and outside agencies.
What you will be doing
  • Manage Inventory and Charge Blending for the Cressona Operation.
  • Manage daily inventory of raw materials, in-house, purchased scrap, RSI and scrap log.
  • Communicate and direct receiving staff and shredder operators on inventory and material flow daily.
  • Communicate with Bay 1 supervisor on inventory and material flow.
  • Audit purchased scrap receiving and labeling.
  • Ensures, educates, and problem-solving activities of scrap/regrades through the process.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
