JOB OVERVIEW

As a Blaster at Robinson, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a high-quality finish of products for various customer projects. Working within a dynamic team environment, the ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering top-notch craftsmanship.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Blast parts/surfaces (steel, metal, etc.) using blast equipment and a variety of blast media (Aluminum Oxide and glass bead).
  • Clean and prepare part surfaces to prevent contamination of media
  • Follow shop schedule and travelers for each job
  • Mask treads and plug holes as required
  • Handle product safely using a forklift, cranes or carts to move product in and out of blast area
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to customer specifications
  • Maintain and keep area safe, organized and clean
  • Enter times and close jobs on a computer after completion
  • Effectively manage time to ensure on-time delivery of every project
  • Ability to work required overtime when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous blasting experience preferred; knowledge of blast grades and media selection is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Adherence to ISO procedures and strong commitment to safety.
  • Organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination for masking and accurate measurements.
  • Physically capable of lifting up-to 50 lbs., standing for long periods, kneeling, bending, and using ladders.
  • Must wear protective equipment regularly.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have leadership responsibilities.
