Job description

Description:

•Operate blasting equipment and machinery
•Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as gauges or micrometers
•Measure work pieces and lay out work, using precision measuring devices
•Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems
•Move machine controls to index work pieces, and to adjust machines for pre-selected operational settings
•Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
•Follow all company safety rules, company rules, policies and procedures as well as any applicable work instructions, specifications and requirements
•Participate in 6S activities daily
•Log into and out of systems correctly for timekeeping and job data


Assist with set up of and operate, or tend blasting equipment or machinery to smooth rough surfaces, shape surfaces or remove surface contaminants under very close supervision.


Requirements:

•HS diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of experience/education
•0-2 years of related experience
•Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control including knowledge of blasting processes
•Basic knowledge of arithmetic and conversions of measurements
•Basic skills in operating and controlling operations of blasting equipment or systems
•Skilled in watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
•Skilled in active listening and following instructions given to complete production tasks
•Skilled in monitoring and assessing performance of machinery and equipment
•Skilled in basic quality control analysis (conducting tests and inspections of products and materials to ensure precision and conformance)
•Ability to pay great attention to detail
•Basic ability to measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers
