CDL Lowboy Driver – Equipment Hauling (Local / Regional)

East Coast Drilling & Blasting – Louisburg, NC

---

WHO WE ARE

East Coast Drilling & Blasting (ECDB) is a safety-first, production-driven drilling and blasting company operating across the Triangle and surrounding areas of North Carolina.

● Own the Work: We move and control our own equipment and expect our drivers to operate with the highest level of ownership and professionalism.

● Safety Standard: Our primary standard is simple: Ensure everyone returns home whole, every day, without sacrificing work quality or creating unnecessary delays. At ECDB, safety is control of the work, not just paperwork.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS

This is not a drop-and-hook position. This is a self-sufficient, heavy equipment hauler role. You will be trusted to make decisions in the field and expected to own them.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

● Moving drills, excavators, hammers, and various support equipment.

● Planning safe routes and ensuring proper site access.

● Securing loads properly in compliance with all regulations.

● Operating in active construction and blasting environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Haul heavy equipment using lowboy trailers (required experience).

● Secure loads in strict accordance with DOT and company standards.

● Pull required permits independently for oversized/overweight loads.

● Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

● Coordinate directly with supervisors for jobsite delivery and pickup.

● Navigate active job sites safely.

● Assist with light field support when needed.

● Maintain clean and organized equipment and truck.

WORK AREA

● Primary: The Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding counties).

● Shop Location: Louisburg, NC.

● Travel: Occasional travel to Western North Carolina. Most days start and end local.

REQUIREMENTS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

● Valid CDL (Class A).

● Proven lowboy / heavy equipment hauling experience.

● Ability to pull permits independently.

● Strong understanding of load securement principles.

● Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Card.

● Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

● Ability to pass DOT drug testing.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

We are looking for a driver who demonstrates ownership, competence, and reliability:

● Self-sufficient operator capable of working without constant supervision.

● Strong attention to safety and detail.

● Willingness to speak up when something isn’t right.

● Highly Desired: Experience operating equipment (loading/unloading) such as Drills, Excavators, and Hammers.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

● Competitive pay based on experience.

● Overtime opportunities.

● Steady, consistent local work pipeline.

● Well-maintained equipment.

● Direct communication and a company culture that values competence.
