Description:

The Blake School seeks to hire a Lower School teaching assistant for the 2026-27 school year beginning in September. This role supports students at Blakeโ€™s Upper Elementary, working with students in grades 2-5.

The hourly rate for this position begins at $21/hour and increases commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position for the 2026-27 school year. Applications will be reviewed as theyโ€™re received.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Substitute during any lead teacher absence
  • Support full-class, small-group and specialist instruction
  • Assist in developing and implementing a progressive, often emergent, curriculum
  • Provide supervision and support during recess and before- and after-school programming
  • Perform day-to-day duties that support the ongoing classroom operations while maintaining proper adult-student ratios
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Document student exploration and work
