CMM Programmer/Dimensional Inspector
Eagle Technologies, LLC (Newport News, VA) is seeking a qualified CMM Operator/Inspector. Eagle Technologies is a small business who designs and manufactures airframe components for the aerospace industry, with a niche in rotor blade and prop blade development. Job Type: Full-time, on-site, ability to work flexible shifts.
Salary: $26-$46 per hour depending on experience
Job Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works in accordance to company established quality systems
  • Conducts complete first piece inspection to assure process is correct before production run begins. Communicates findings in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, or electrical characteristics.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • May set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • May prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Ensure that the product or service our organization provides is fit for its purpose and meets customer expectations.
  • Running/programming the CMM, Faro arm tracker, and Romer Arm for all inspections required
  • Mentoring employees on functionality and running of CMMs
  • Other activities as may be directed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Team Player
  • Ability to use and read micrometers, calipers, vision systems, CMMs and other measuring equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company
  • Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of CMM Manager and Spatial Analyzer (SA) software or equivalent.
  • Ability to program and operate CMMs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics or engineering drawings
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

Credentials and Experience
  • Two year degree in Engineering or QA discipline preferred or equivalent experience is acceptable
  • 3 years prior experience in quality assurance desired, a background in manufacturing/R&D a plus
  • Will work on government contracts.
  • Must be US citizen.
