Description:

The Bartender is a part-time, guest-facing role responsible for delivering a high-quality beverage experience at the Black Prong Whiskey Bar and Grill and during special events. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-based, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include beverage preparation, bar cleanliness, guest service, inventory support, and compliance with all alcohol service regulations. The Bartender reports directly to the Front of House Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area at all times

• Deliver timely, courteous, and professional service to guests

• Ensure accuracy, presentation, and quality of all drink orders

• Follow all local, state, and federal alcohol service laws and safety guidelines

• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems

• Assist with bar inventory, product rotation, labeling, and dating

• Coordinate daily bar supply needs and communicate restocking requirements to supervisors

• Participate in menu development for seasonal, holiday, or themed drink offerings

• Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks, including dishwashing as required

• Support bartending operations for special events and catering functions

• Assist with training new bartenders or front-of-house staff as assigned

• Perform all duties with attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail

Requirements:

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Minimum of two (2) years of bartending or restaurant experience, including drink preparation

• Strong working knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and craft cocktails

• Current beverage service certification as required by federal, state, or local regulations

• Experience using point-of-sale systems

• Basic computer proficiency (Windows, email, Microsoft Office)

• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to multitask and maintain composure during peak service periods
