Trolley Driver - Part Time Bi-Weekly

City of Newnan GA

The City of Newnan is looking for a dynamic person to drive the City of Newnan's Trolley! Are you happiest when you are on the move? Do you have a friendly, helpful nature? Do you enjoy hearing passenger stories and sharing helpful info along the route? If that describes you, hop aboard and apply to drive the City of Newnan's Trolley!

The ideal candidate will be outgoing, safety oriented, and love to work with people. This employee will not only be a Trolley Driver, but will serve as an Ambassador for the City of Newnan.

The Trolley runs a fixed route from historic downtown Newnan to Ashley Park: Friday - Saturday - Sunday from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. The Trolley also runs routes during other special events and seasonal events.

As a Driver, you will:

  • Transport passengers safely to and from the designated pick up and drop off locations

  • Graciously assist passengers with entry and exit to the Trolley as needed

  • Respond with helpful information about Newnan local attractions

  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean throughout usage, refueled and ready to go for next shift

  • Coordinate maintenance and needed repairs with Public Works Garage

Qualifications

  • CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement

  • Professional behavior

  • Positive attitude

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work without direct supervision and maintain scheduled route

  • Reliable/excellent attendance

Applicant must successfully pass Background Screen, Motor Vehicle History and Pre-Employment Drug Screen with a Blood Alcohol Test.

Subject to quarterly random OSHA CDL screenings.

This position is part time and not eligible for benefits.

$22.00 per hour - Scheduled 22-25 hours bi-weekly, additional hours based on special events.

Position is open until filled.
