Field Operations Technician

Location: Woodward, OK - Gage, OK

Department: Operations

Reports To: Director of Operations

Employment Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Field Operations Technician is responsible for the regular monitoring, inspection, and basic maintenance of our remote Bitcoin mining facility powered by on-site natural gas generators connected directly to oil well heads. This role requires biweekly site visits to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of both the power generation equipment and the cryptocurrency mining infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities Site Inspection & Monitoring (60%)

Conduct on-site inspections a minimum of every two (2) days

Perform visual inspections of generator equipment, fuel lines, and connections

Monitor Bitcoin mining equipment for proper operation and environmental conditions

Check and document temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems

Inspect physical security of the site and equipment

Document site conditions through written reports and photographic records

Generator Maintenance (25%)

Check and maintain proper oil levels in generators

Perform routine fluid checks (coolant, fuel)

Monitor generator performance metrics and operating hours

Identify abnormal sounds, vibrations, or operational issues

Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks as directed

Coordinate with Director of Operations on maintenance scheduling

Equipment Monitoring & Troubleshooting (10%)

Monitor Bitcoin mining hardware status and alert systems

Report equipment malfunctions or anomalies to operations team

Perform basic troubleshooting under remote guidance

Document equipment downtime and operational issues

Assist with equipment resets and restarts as directed

Assit with equipment packing and shipping for repairs

Communication & Reporting (5%)

Maintain regular communication with Director of Operations

Submit timely inspection reports after each site visit

Respond to emergency calls or alerts as needed

Document all maintenance activities and observations

Provide recommendations for operational improvements

Required Qualifications: Knowledge & Experience

Basic understanding of oil and gas field operations and safety protocols

Working knowledge of generator operation and maintenance

Familiarity with checking and adding engine oil and fluids

Mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience a plus

Ability to recognize abnormal equipment operation

Basic understanding of computer networks

Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and observational skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Basic computer and smartphone skills for reporting and documentation

Problem-solving mindset and ability to follow technical instructions

Physical ability to work in outdoor conditions and around industrial equipment

Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated work ethic

Transportation & Logistics:

Must have reliable personal transportation to reach remote site locations

Willing and able to visit site location every two days minimum

Available for occasional emergency call-outs

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Technical or vocational training in mechanics, oil & gas, or related field (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in oil & gas field operations

Generator maintenance experience

Basic electrical troubleshooting skills

Familiarity with data center or technology equipment (helpful but not required)

Previous remote site monitoring experience

Training Provided:

We will provide comprehensive training in the following areas:

Bitcoin mining operations and equipment

Specific protocols for the assigned facility

Safety procedures and emergency response

Reporting systems and documentation requirements

Remote troubleshooting and support procedures

Company policies and operational standards

No prior cryptocurrency or Bitcoin mining experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site inspections

Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to climb ladders and work at heights if necessary

Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment

Visual and auditory acuity to detect equipment abnormalities

Work Environment:

Remote outdoor location at oil well site

Exposure to weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation)

Industrial environment with operating generators and equipment

Noise from generators and mining equipment

Occasional work outside standard business hours for emergency response
