Job description

The Housekeeper shall, under direct supervision of the Administrator, maintain standards with respect to cleanliness and sanitation of the facility, and do related work as required. This individual may be assigned to specific areas throughout the facility. This includes laundry, floor care, general cleaning, and supply stocking.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Keeping a neat overall appearance of surroundings.
  • Emptying and washing wastebaskets.
  • Washing windows on the inside and screens.
  • Caring for all drapes.
  • Clean entryways.
  • Dusting and mopping floors and walls.
  • Disposing of rubbish.
  • Disposing of Chux on weekends.
  • Keeping all woodwork throughout the home free of duct and dirt.
  • Keeping toilets, mirrors, washbasins, urinals, and shower stalls in sanitary condition.
  • Polishing all brass, chrome and glass panels.
  • Keeping drinking fountains clean and polished.
  • Vacuum carpeting in all areas of the facility.
  • Shampoo carpeting in all areas of the facility.
  • Clean dining room table basses and legs.
  • Clean all chairs in the dining room.
  • Clean all furniture in the common areas.
  • Vacuum and clean all air vents.
  • Clean stove and sinks in the activity room.
  • Clean outside area of the nurse's stations.
  • Dust and clean lights over nurse's stations.
