Role Overview

ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a District Sales Manager (N.E. Wisconsin).

The District Sales Manager leads a team that promotes and sells a portfolio of genetic products and reproductive services and solutions directly to current and new end customers. ย This role manages product/service introductions, pricing, and customer value. Knowledge of herd management software programs and reproductive performance management is required. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in the dairy cattle industry, with specific expertise in cattle reproduction, and genetics.

The position is based remotely in Wisconsin, with a preference for candidates located in Northeast Wisconsin, with travel estimated at 75%.

The based salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 USD per year with eligibility for a local performance-based bonus plan, tied to territory results and business objectives.ย  The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  • Be accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
  • Requires in-depth understanding of reproductive management and genetic improvement.
  • Manages a team of employees and Independent Representatives assigned to territory; adapts plans and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges.
  • Impacts the level of service and the team's ability to meet quality, volume, and timeliness objectives.
  • Grow and develop unit sales and blend price of dairy semen, beef semen and other products in the assigned geography primarily through the effective.
  • Develop and implement successful sales implementation plans in support of the strategic objectives of the district.
  • Attain district sales goals as defined for each fiscal year.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales force capable of maximizing ABS market presence and revenue generation in the assigned district.ย  This includes effective management of team in terms of attracting, onboarding, developing, training and performance management of teams.
  • Procure and maintain accurate customer information from Employees and Independent Representatives in the assigned district.
  • Increase revenues in assigned district by developing new accounts and maximizing ABS' opportunity for market penetration.
  • Effectively implement and adhere to the policies, programs and directives of ABS Global and in particular, the ABS Sales and Product Management teams.
  • Develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with management, employees, independent representatives and customers.ย  Represent ABS Global in a manner consistent with company objectives and image.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years applicable sales and marketing experience in the biotech/agribusiness industry, with specific expertise in dairy, cattle reproduction, and genetics.
  • Exceptional experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement. Experience must include management of a geographically dispersed sales force and revenue target accountability.
  • Extensive travel by region and territory.ย 
  • Effective listening and communication skills.
