Job Description Summary
Natural Sciences Laboratory Assistant includes the following disciplines:
• Biology
• Biotechnology
• Chemistry
• Geology
• Physics
The Laboratory Assistant will work directly under the tutelage of the Instructor of Record for a respective discipline. Primary responsibilities will involve hands-on activities associated with the laboratory component of these courses. Activities primarily include preparation of materials used for the express purpose experimentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of college-level courses within the respective discipline.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
The Laboratory Assistant must be able to demonstrate knowledge of a litany of skills associated with the laboratory component of biotechnology experimentation. This can be done by referencing successful completion of one or more of the above-mentioned courses, or by evidence citing analogous research skills.
Preferred Qualifications
A Certificate or an Associate in Applied Science degree in the respective discipline.
