Summary

The QC Chemical Laboratory Technician assists QC analysts with support functions for routine analyses and documentation of In-Process, Finished Product, Calibration, Stability samples, and project activities within the QC Chemistry Laboratory in a manner consistent with established pharmaceutical standards. The role supports internal development and manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with SOPs, GMP, GLP, GDP, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare test solutions, including diluents and mobile phases.
  • Collect, clean, and maintain laboratory glassware as needed.
  • Perform daily instrument calibrations and verification activities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete laboratory documentation in accordance with pharmaceutical industry standards.
  • Coordinate and perform collection and disposal of pharmaceutical laboratory waste, including sample waste, solvent waste, sharps containers, and other regulated waste.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Track, receive, log, order, and stock solvents, laboratory supplies, and glassware, and maintain general storage areas.
  • Assist dissolution analysts with instrument setup, operation support, and cleanup activities.
  • Coordinate or assist with safety, audit, and compliance-related programs, including weekly eye-wash station inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel across multiple departments.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and safety guidelines while maintaining required compliance standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in physical science, Chemistry or Biochemistry or Biology.
  • Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of basic instrumental technologies and qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses.
  • Awareness of pharmaceutical quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to scientific investigations.
  • Ability to follow company policies, SOPs, cGMPs, work instructions, analytical methods, and laboratory guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet workload requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative to pursue additional assignments and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations related to test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, operate laboratory equipment, and wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, safety apron, and respirator as required.
