Job description

Our client, a top AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a highly-qualified and motivated patent agent or scientist for our Biotech/Life Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group. The position can be based in any of our current offices. Interested candidates will have excellent academic credentials and communication and interpersonal skills.

An advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in molecular or cell biology, immunology, genetics, cell physiology/biophysics, biochemistry or a comparable life science field is required. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications for life sciences, biotech or pharmaceuticals inventions; and/or experience in biotech commercialization, such as university tech transfer, or industry commercialization/regulatory compliance

Previous law firm or industry experience and current patent bar membership is preferred, however, candidates with strong scientific backgrounds will be considered. A strong candidate can demonstrate the ability to apply scientific expertise together with commercial and legal considerations to understand our clients' big picture in the commercialization sense; is comfortable with oral presentation and explanation of work product; is comfortable and effective at working independently; and is comfortable with remotely supporting supervising attorneys in multiple offices.Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and school transcript.
