Job description

Job Title: QA Technical Writer

Location: Memphis, TN
Pay Rate: $32/hour
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Technical Writer to support quality and compliance documentation within a regulated cell and gene therapy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing and editing skills, experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop accurate, compliant documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and facilitate the completion of quality system documents, including Deviations, CAPAs, and Change Controls.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, concise, accurate, and aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete routine and non-routine documentation assignments within established timelines.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Facilitate document reviews and approvals and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams.
  • Write, edit, and review technical documents, including SOPs, batch records, technical reports, and other quality documentation.
  • Communicate results, concerns, and recommendations clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and support client-facing documentation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, templates, clarity, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Support and facilitate training activities for internal teams and functional departments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–6 years of technical writing experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, preferably within cell and gene therapy.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific information and present it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a regulated environment.
