Job description

Job Summary:

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Human Resources Team! As a Temporary Technical Recruiter, you will play a vital part in supporting our growth by identifying, screening, and attracting qualified candidates across diverse departments (R&D, commercial operations, manufacturing, corporate support, etc.). You will collaborate closely with hiring managers and HR to ensure a smooth hiring process. This position is Full-Time 30 hours or more per week Monday-Friday onsite in Tustin, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with hiring managers across functions to understand staffing needs and define role requirements.
  • Source and engage candidates through multiple channels (job boards, social media, direct outreach, referrals).
  • Screen applications and conduct initial candidate interviews evaluating skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and internal teams; manage follow-ups and communication.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems or candidate databases (update candidate information, interview notes, statuses).
  • Support job postings: draft and publish job descriptions, ensure clarity and alignment with company values.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with a scientific background.
  • Previous recruiting or talent acquisition experience (contract, part-time, or full-time), preferably in biotech, scientific, or similarly technical industries - but not strictly required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), able to interact effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working with applicant tracking / candidate database tools; organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time and priorities, and handle multiple concurrent searches.
  • Proactive sourcing mindset: comfortable using creative outreach (direct messaging, networking, referrals) to build talent pipelines.
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn about technical / scientific job roles (R&D, manufacturing, lab-tech, and biotech sales)

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $32.00 to $38.00 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
