Job description

Summary: Top investment bank is seeking an Equity Research Senior Associate with deep scientific background to support Biotechnology Analyst and Senior Pharma & Biotech analyst (#1 ranked SMID Biotech/3x ranked team).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting proprietary research evaluating drug pipelines by analyzing preclinical and clinical data, attending medical conferences, and speaking with key opinion leaders
  • Building and maintaining financial models
  • Writing research reports for companies under coverage
  • Creating statistical models/analyses of clinical trials
  • Interpret and analyze industry/company news, patent law and litigations, and clinical data
  • Conceiving and executing differentiated project ideas
  • Communicating with company management, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investors

Key qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD/MD/PharmD) in life sciences - immunology/neuroscience/oncology experience is a plus
  • Ideal candidate qualities include competitiveness, drive, strong work ethic, creativity, desire to be great, enthusiasm to learn, and a team player
  • Sharp analytical skills in dissecting preclinical/clinical data
  • 3+ years of experience in biopharmaceuticals equity research, buy-side, healthcare consulting, or biopharmaceutical industry is desirable but not required
  • High proficiency in written/verbal communication
  • Statistical background/Python is desirable
  • Experience with clinical trial statistics and designs are a plus

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $135,000 - $165,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
