Job Summary:
Novir is an emerging diagnostic biotechnology company with an unmatched team of professionals delivering innovative testing solutions. They are seeking a Technical Lead / Full Stack Engineer to own the technology end-to-end, design scalable systems, and partner closely with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Own the technical vision and architecture across all Novir platforms, including core applications, integrations, and infrastructure
โ€ข Act as a player-coach: write production code while guiding and leveling up other engineers and contributors
โ€ข Leverage AI/agentic development tools to dramatically improve speed, efficiency, and code quality
โ€ข Design and build scalable, secure APIs and systems that integrate with internal tools and third-party platforms
โ€ข Partner closely with product, operations, and leadership to prioritize and execute against the roadmap
โ€ข Translate ambiguous business needs into clean, pragmatic technical solutions
โ€ข Lead development of internal tools including tracking systems, inventory systems, and operational platforms
โ€ข Establish best practices across code quality, deployment, CI/CD, and system reliability
โ€ข Evaluate and implement new technologies that create leverage and long-term advantages
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript across the stack
โ€ข Experience with Node.js and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
โ€ข Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS โ€“ EC2, RDS, etc.)
โ€ข Experience with Docker, distributed systems, and backend services (Redis, nginx, etc.)
โ€ข Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, CircleCI, CodeDeploy)
โ€ข Strong experience designing and building APIs and system integrations
โ€ข Comfort working across the full stack: frontend, backend, and infrastructure
โ€ข 6+ years of engineering experience, with increasing ownership over systems and architecture
โ€ข Ability to operate as both architect and hands-on engineer
โ€ข A builderโ€™s mindsetโ€”someone who ships, iterates, and takes ownership
โ€ข Experience using (or strong interest in using) AI-assisted / agentic coding tools to accelerate development
โ€ข Strong product intuition and ability to work directly with stakeholders and customers
โ€ข Comfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment
โ€ข Track record of building and scaling systems from the ground up
Preferred:
โ€ข Prior experience in a lead, staff, or founding engineer role strongly preferred
โ€ข Experience with patient tracking systems, EMRs/EHRs, lab integrations (HL7, FHIR, SFTP, API), and inventory logistics
