Job description

For the past 25 years, ProPharma has improved the health and wellness of patients by providing advice and expertise that empowers biotech, med device, and pharmaceutical organizations of all sizes to confidently advance scientific breakthroughs and introduce new therapies. ProPharma partners with its clients through an advise-build-operate model across the complete product lifecycle. With deep domain expertise in regulatory sciences, clinical research solutions, quality & compliance, pharmacovigilance, medical information, and R&D technology, ProPharma offers an end-to-end suite of fully customizable consulting solutions that de-risk and accelerate our partners' most high-profile drug and device programs.
ProPharma is looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong understanding of Pharmaceutical R&D, particularly within the CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls) and product development domain.
The successful candidate will work within a small, agile team responsible for prototyping data solutions that support a more efficient, data-driven and model-enabled development organization. The objective is to improve the integration, cleansing, standardization and utilization of both internal and CRO-generated data, enabling better decision-making, reporting and analytical capabilities across the product development lifecycle.
Key Areas of Work
The prototyping activities are expected to include:
  • Designing and implementing flexible, parameterized data models and data pipelines.
  • Integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources, including datasets with overlapping or related data structures.
  • Developing highly configurable data processing pipelines that enable business users to manage data cleansing, standardization and business rules through low-code/no-code approaches.
  • Working iteratively with stakeholders to evaluate alternative solution approaches and validate them using real-world data.
  • Developing tools and automation pipelines to extract, transform and ingest data from third-party artifacts, including PDF, JSON and CSV files.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and developing data pipelines and data integration solutions on enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark and SQL.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering data solutions within the pharmaceutical industry, including working with laboratory and product development data workflows.
  • Understanding of CMC and Pharmaceutical R&D data domains would be highly desirable.
