Are you excited by the intersection of genomics, molecular biology, and breakthrough biotechnology? We're seeking a Research Associate – Spatial Genomics Manufacturing to join an innovative team developing next-generation tools that are transforming how scientists understand tissue biology, disease progression, and gene expression.

In this role, you'll support the production and quality control of advanced microfluidic consumables powering a groundbreaking spatial-omics platform. Leveraging technologies such as PCR/qPCR, NGS, microfluidics, and high-resolution imaging, you'll help create tools that enable researchers to map complex biological systems with unprecedented precision.

This is an outstanding opportunity for recent graduates and early-career scientists looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing biotech environment where your work will directly contribute to advancing scientific discovery and precision medicine.

What You'll Do
  • Support manufacturing and quality control activities for cutting-edge spatial genomics products.
  • Perform molecular biology workflows, including PCR, qPCR, NGS library preparation, and precision pipetting.
  • Prepare, formulate, and quality-check reagents used in spatial biology and multi-omics applications.
  • Operate and maintain specialized laboratory and manufacturing equipment according to established SOPs.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing, including qPCR analysis, imaging assessments, and sequencing validation.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams to improve manufacturing processes and product performance.
  • Assist with workflow optimization and scale-up initiatives as production capacity grows.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, batch records, and experimental data to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, reagents, and consumables to support ongoing production activities.
  • Perform tissue processing, histological slide preparation, and sample handling for spatial biology applications.
  • Execute immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence staining protocols for tissue analysis and imaging.
  • Contribute to assay development, validation, and data generation using advanced molecular and imaging technologies.
  • Work cross-functionally with scientists and engineers to advance novel spatial-omics technologies from development through commercialization.
  • Follow laboratory safety standards and quality procedures within a regulated environment.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience performing PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA workflows, and NGS library preparation.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, or related life science disciplines.
  • Experience with laboratory techniques including reagent preparation, sterile technique, and precision pipetting.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures, SOP-driven environments, and scientific documentation practices.
  • Experience working independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in New Haven, CT.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory, biotechnology, research, or biomanufacturing experience.
  • Experience with tissue processing, histology, IHC, immunofluorescence, and microscopy.
  • Exposure to microfluidics, proteomics, assay development, or spatial biology technologies.
  • Experience working in GMP, ISO, or other regulated laboratory environments.
