Job description

OMERS Private Capital is seeking a lawyer (Canada or U.S. qualified) with 7+ years of corporate/commercial experience in lending, private equity and/or M&A gained in a top law firm and/or in-house, to join its exceptional team as Associate Director, Legal (Private Capital).ย 

Reporting to the Senior Managing Director & Head of Legal, Private Capital, this role will advise on investment, corporate finance and governance-related matters. The position primarily partners with the Life Sciences investment team to support their ambitious growth by providing legal, investment and operational support in royalty financing transactions.

The successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of the investment process, including due diligence, negotiation of transaction agreements and related governance agreements, regulatory review, internal investment approvals, funding processes and closing mechanics. Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical or biotech sectors (including commercial licensing) is an asset. The ideal candidate is practical, solutions-oriented and thrives in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

This is a full-time Toronto-based position.
