Position Summary
Tang Capital is seeking an entry-level Biotechnology Research Analyst to join its New York office. The Analyst will support scientific, clinical, and strategic analyses across biotechnology assets and therapeutic areas, with a primary focus on drug development strategy for Tang Capital's existing and future portfolio companies. This work may include evaluating therapeutic areas and competitive landscapes, assessing product opportunities, supporting indication selection, and contributing to clinical development and trial design strategies. The Analyst will also conduct financial analysis on biotechnology companies, drugs, and markets to support investment research.
This role requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex medical, scientific, clinical, and technical information, and to translate those insights into clear, concise written deliverables and presentations for senior leadership.
The Analyst will have a unique opportunity to develop hands-on operational experience in drug development through Tang Capital affiliates, while also gaining exposure to investment research and analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in life sciences, chemistry or medicine required
  • Exceptional academic track record
  • Strong work ethic, high integrity, willingness to tackle any challenge and a tenacious desire to learn
  • Strong organizational, quantitative, verbal, writing and editing skills with rigorous attention to detail and the ability to communicate directly and concisely
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing and high-performance environment
