Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented operator to support our Refinery and Biodiesel production operations. As a Biorefinery Operator, youโ€™ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective production of refined and bleached soybean oil from crude soybean oil and biodiesel within the required product specifications.


This position is on night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The schedule is a 2/3/2 that provides every other weekend off. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour for the night shift premium. Additional $1.00 per hour after qualifying operator levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Adhere to safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations to uphold a strong safety culture. Identify and promptly address workplace hazards.
  • Perform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerin, fatty acids, and water. Visually inspect all types of inventory. Measure physical inventory on a periodic basis. Operate lab equipment according to procedure.
  • Under your direction, conduct continuous inspections of key process points, make necessary machinery and equipment adjustments, identify problems with equipment, and continually monitor equipment.

  • Gather samples of laboratory analysis as scheduled/required, and perform and record required control analyses.
  • Maintain logs of key production variables such as production volume, yield, plant uptime, and utility consumption on a timely basis.
  • Perform the necessary safety inspections to maintain the equipment in safe and efficient operational condition.
  • Perform all types of general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspections, repairs, adjustments, and monitoring throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Safety Conscious: Prioritize safety at all times.
  • Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical Aptitude: Knowledge of mechanical processes, and aptitude for spatial awareness and quantitative reasoning.
  • Experience: Previous Biorefinery Operator experience is a plus.
