 THE OPPORTUNITY

Activ Surgical is building a platform for introducing the latest sensing technology to minimally invasive surgery, intended to visualize the invisible to facilitate better surgical decisions and outcomes. As part of the R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and prototyping novel real-time minimally invasive medical imaging and sensing technologies for tissue visualization. You will be expected to stay current on the most pressing clinical challenges, develop novel sensing techniques and effectively communicate these with the broader team.

Requirements

MS or PhD in relevant engineering or scientific discipline, such as Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, etc.

Hands-on experience with optical imaging technologies and camera sensors.

Hands-on experience with optical system design and manufacturing

Experience developing real-time imaging or sensing systems

Experience with optical design with Zemax or equivalent software

Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and rapidly prototype novel sensing solutions

Strong communication skills and collaboration closely with a cross-functional team

Preferred Qualification

Hands-on optical design and optimization experience for complex imaging systems

5+ years of experience in Medical device R&D

Image analysis background

ML/AI experience
