This individual will play a key role in developing a new generation AI/ML based computer vision algorithms to enable new display calibration and metrology methodology. You will work closely with multi-functional groups to design, develop, validate the algorithms, and deploy them to real products. Candidate will be responsible for- Specify, design and implement display metrology and calibration algorithms during Apple new product introduction (NPI) process and mass production- Design AI/ML models, and conduct model training and performance validation- Integrate the models and algorithms into manufacturing equipments- Evaluate algorithm effectiveness as compared to human vision and competitive algorithms- Define algorithm performance verification specs and review existing algorithms- Collaborate with team members responsible for deployment of your algorithms to our factories during the NPI process.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields (e.g. Applied Mathematics, Physics or Biomedical Engineering) and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience Knowledge of image processing, computer vision and machine learningProgramming skills in Matlab/Python
MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields (e.g. Applied Mathematics, Physics or Biomedical Engineering with relevant experience)Familiarity with Matlab image processing toolbox or OpenCVExperience in data analysis and visualization with Matlab/Python/JMPRich experience in algorithm development and integrationSelf-motivated, responsible, excellent written and verbal interpersonal skillsExperience of combining machine learning and computer vision to solve practical problems related to display design and/or display testDirect experience on display or optical metrology systems developmentFamiliar with industrial optical instruments, especially imaging instrumentsStrong problem solving skills; positive outlook and eagerness to step into uncharted technology spaces while being able to engineer solutions to meet project timelinesAbility to own areas of responsibility, being able to self-motivate and work independently with critical thinkings
