Position Summary
The University of New Mexico Center for Stable Isotopes is a non-profit research focused laboratory and analytical facility founded in 2014. The mission of UNM-CSI is to support world-class stable isotope research by scientists and students across disciplines from Earth and Planetary Sciences, Biology, Anthropology, Chemistry and the Biomedical Sciences.
The position assists with preparation of samples for isotopicmeasurements, supports CSI Faculty, technical staff, graduate students andpost-doctoral fellows with various experimental procedure. Sets up and operateslaboratory equipment of moderate complexity. Records data, providing basicresults.
Duties include:
  • Processes samples in accordance with existingprotocols and procedures
  • Prepares samples and standards for isotopicmeasurements
  • Operates research equipment under supervision
  • Performs routine data manipulation andreduction using specified computer programs
  • Maintains inventory of supplies

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities which may include practicum.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
