Job description

Description:

Texas Biomed is seeking an HVAC & Environmental Building Automation Technician who prefers a more favorable work/life balance, predominantly day shift only, the opportunity for a 4-10 workweek, a more consistent daily work schedule, and report to the same work site every day. Our team supports an entire biomedical research campus, and we seek an ambitious candidate who can help expand our automation facilities department capabilities while he/she has opportunities to grow their automation and mechanical skills. You will perform routine and intermediate level maintenance tasks utilizing skills to diagnose problems, make repairs and/or replace worn or defective parts on building mechanical systems, machines, biocontainment and HVAC equipment.

Will be required to satisfactorily complete an SRA Federal background check.


The Role:

• Perform maintenance on building automation systems, machines, and mechanical equipment.

• Experience and understanding in FLN, BACnet/IP and BACnet, MSITP communication as well as troubleshooting and configuring building automation systems

• Perform proper panel preventative maintenance and document findings.

• Diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions.

• Integrate new panels into an existing Desigo CC platform.

• Execute panel preventive maintenance and documentation.

• Commission new direct digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines.

• Manage relevant network technologies: Perform data backups from data servers and create automated backup procedures.

• Troubleshoot and resolve inconsistencies in functions or sequences of operations. Configure PC workstations and user interfaces. Confirm proper network performance.

• Validate designed equipment performance variables against stringent biocontainment requirements.

• Create new points and alarms from sensors based on equipment/system requirements.

• Read and write programming for Siemens and WebCTRL systems.

• Integrate third-party systems with existing BAS system.

• Create new graphics pages on Desigo CC and associate values to different images.

• Integrate low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols, such as BACNet, N2, Modbus, etc.


Our Ideal Candidate:

• High school diploma or GED

• Four (4) years of experience programming, commissioning, running system diagnostics, and/or repairing building automation (BAS) / building management (BMS) systems

• Experience writing computer programs and software applications related to HVAC

• Strong electrical background with the ability to run conduit/wiring and make terminations preferred

• Must be able to obtain Security Risk Assessment (SRA) clearance and remain SRA eligible for duration of employment to access labs and lab integrity control equipment

• Knowledge and skills to properly calibrate panels as well as field-level devices and end device calibration (i.e. Setras, Room Pressure Monitors, etc.)

• Must have knowledge and experience to write computer programs and software applications related to the HVAC industry

• Must be able to support a rotational “on-call” process, which could include nights and weekends
