Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Monroe Biomedical Research is seeking an experienced, patient-focused onsite Clinical Research Coordinator preferably with their (RN/NP) to join our Monroe, NC location.

This hands-on role combines direct patient care with clinical research coordination. The Clinical Research Nurse will support participants throughout the clinical trial process, from screening and study visits through procedures, documentation, and follow-up.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN or NP who enjoys patient care, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to contribute to research that advances medicine and expands treatment options.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO: Clinical Research & Study Management
  • Coordinate clinical trial visits from screening through completion.
  • Review protocols and ensure study procedures are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain complete and accurate source documentation.
  • Support participant screening, enrollment, and ongoing study activities.
  • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors, monitors, and research staff.
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA regulations, sponsor requirements, and internal procedures.
Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessment and care to adult study participants within your scope of practice and study requirements.
  • Perform and/or oversee procedures including:
    • Blood draws/phlebotomy
    • ECGs
    • Pulmonary function testing
    • Vital signs
    • Other protocol-required assessments
  • Review medical history, medications, laboratory results, and other clinical information.
  • Educate participants on study procedures, medications, and follow-up.
  • Recognize and communicate adverse events or clinically significant findings.
  • Deliver a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered experience.
Data & Documentation
  • Document study visits, clinical findings, and patient information accurately.
  • Enter and maintain study data within sponsor systems and required timelines.
  • Process and coordinate laboratory specimens according to protocol.
  • Respond to data queries and maintain accurate, inspection-ready records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current RN or NP license with the ability to practice with an adult patient population.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in nursing required; Masterโ€™s degree for NP candidates.
  • Previous direct patient care experience required.
  • Clinical research experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent organization, documentation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed clinical trial protocols.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
  • Must commute daily to Monroe, NC daily.
