Job Description:

Metas Solutions has an "immediate opening"\ for a strategic AI-ML Engineer technical lead supporting the modernization of public health platforms through the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI capabilities. This position integrates cutting‑edge technologies-including AI agents, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and large language models (LLMs)-to enable dynamic interaction with structured and unstructured public health data, drive real-time insights, and strengthen decision-making across mission-critical environments.

This position is responsible for architecting and optimizing AI systems, including data modeling for AI agents, memory and state management, RAG pipeline construction, and performance tuning of retrieval processes tailored to public health use cases. The role develops and implements rigorous AI evaluation strategies to ensure high-quality, trustworthy outputs and scalable performance across deployed solutions. This position is located in Atlanta, GA and will require on‑site support.

Responsibilities:
  • Integrate cutting‑edge AI technologies-including AI agents-to enhance platform functionality, enable dynamic data interaction, and support real‑time insights and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement rigorous AI evaluation strategies to ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across deployed AI solutions.
  • Lead the design of foundational system architecture, including data modeling for AI agents, memory and state management, and construction and optimization of RAG pipelines.
  • Drive performance optimization of retrieval workflows for public health use cases while defining and upholding strict data quality, curation, and documentation standards in collaboration with cross‑functional AI teams.
  • Maintain adherence to privacy requirements, anonymization protocols, and ethical guidelines essential to responsible public health data management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models
  • 8+ years of experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or RAG applications
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with Python for ML and data engineering
  • Experience with Azure
  • Experience in SQL for data manipulation and feature engineering
  • Knowledge of MLOps tools (MLflow)
  • Ability to support on‑site work in Atlanta, GA
  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in data-centric AI or ML projects within healthcare, biomedical, or public health sectors
  • Experience with full-stack development or deploying end‑to‑end ML applications
  • Experience with deploying ML solutions using Mols pipelines
  • Knowledge of government public health data architecture and systems
  • Knowledge of chatbot development or conversational AI
