The MSBT Program prepares future biotechnology professionals, scientists, and innovators through interdisciplinary, translational, and workforce-focused graduate education.
The Master of Science in Biotechnology - Medical Cannabis Therapeutics (MSBT-MCT) Program at Morehouse School of Medicine invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position to teach Biomedical Data Science & Statistics (3 credit hours), a core graduate-level course.
This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to biomedical data science and the practical application of computational, statistical, and data-driven approaches used across biotechnology, bioinformatics, biomedical research, and health informatics. Students gain exposure to modern programming languages, database systems, cloud computing, data visualization, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data mining techniques relevant to contemporary biotechnology and biomedical innovation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in biomedical data science, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, data analytics, AI/ML, or related disciplines, along with a commitment to graduate education and workforce preparation in emerging biomedical technologies.
Course Description
Biomedical Data Science & Statistics (3 Credit Hours) - Core
This course provides a comprehensive overview of key concepts in biomedical data science and the application of common data science techniques used in biotechnology, bioinformatics, and health informatics.
Topics include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Adjunct Faculty member will:
  • Develop and deliver graduate-level instruction for Biomedical Data Science & Statistics

  • Teach foundational and applied concepts in biomedical data science and biostatistics
  • Introduce students to programming languages and computational tools relevant to biotechnology and biomedical research
  • Facilitate instruction involving:

    • Python-based data visualization and analytics

Appointment Terms
This is a part-time Adjunct Faculty appointment for instruction of a 3-credit-hour core course within the MSBT-MCT Program. Teaching modality, appointment duration, and compensation will be determined according to Morehouse School of Medicine policies and programmatic needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree, PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Biotechnology, Health Informatics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in biomedical data science and computational analysis
  • Experience with programming languages and data science platforms relevant to the course
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
