The Buyer/Expeditor is responsible for managing procurement activities and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to support production schedules. This role involves supplier coordination, order management, and proactive issue resolution to maintain operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Order Management: Manage the full lifecycle of purchase orders, from initiation to delivery.

  • Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to confirm deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with purchase agreements.

  • Expediting: Proactively track orders to prevent or resolve delays, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to ensure sufficient materials for production schedules.

  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address any problems that could impact delivery or production schedules.

  • Internal Communication: Collaborate with production, logistics, and other departments to keep stakeholders informed of material status.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and evaluate performance.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.

What You Need

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • 2-5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, or expediting.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management processes.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with suppliers and managing delivery schedules

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
