Job description

Your Opportunity:

As a member of the Clinical Engineering Department, you would be joining a diverse team to assist in the management of technology and support of clinically-applied devices that Health Shared Services monitors and maintains. The position is a Biomedical Equipment Technologist I (BMET I) and would be stationed in the South, located at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The BMET I can work independently and/or as part of a clinical team and is responsible for performance assurance testing and support of medical devices, ensuring compliance to CSA, manufacturers' and accreditation specifications and standards. Responsibilities include scheduling and managing assigned workload and other related duties, as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must display positive attitude and good aptitude for the position, critical thinker in relation to troubleshooting equipment and a knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written/verbal, and organizational skills. Must demonstrate technical skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be reliable, possess good judgement, and be capable of working independently as presented in your attached resume
