Ardurra is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our team in Draper, ID.

Primary Function:ย 

Ardurra is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer 2027. As an Aviation Engineering Intern, you will support engineering assignments that contribute to the planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. This internship is designed to give you exposure to real world engineering work, build your technical skills, and help you explore a future career in the aviation engineering industry.ย 

ย Primary Duties:ย 

  • Assists with preparing plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.ย 
  • Supports preparation of technical specifications and provides information for incorporation into project documentation.ย 
  • Assists with researching design options and presenting findings to project managers or project engineers.ย 
  • Reviews design drawings within defined limits and contribute to quality control efforts.ย 
  • Prepares sections of technical memoranda and assist with project reportย 
  • Performs material quantity take-offs and contact vendors to obtain budgetary quotes for cost estimating.ย 
  • Assists in the development of construction cost estimates for aviation-related projects.ย 
  • Supports project managers by monitoring workload, helping identify scope changes, and assisting with documentation needs.ย 
  • Performs field tests, measurements, and data collection to support aviation design and construction.ย 
  • Assists with construction inspection and on-site project representation during active construction seasons.ย 
  • Prepares daily field reports and contributes to construction oversight tasks.ย 
  • Assists with project-related communication and coordination, including client interactions under staff supervision.ย 
  • Provides miscellaneous project support tasks to help teams meet deadlines and client expectations.ย 
  • Collaborates with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary team members across aviation assignments.ย 
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.ย

  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, standard procedures, and commonly used software tools to support project tasks and documentation.ย 
  • Skilled in organizing data, preparing reports, and applying basic technical understanding to contribute to project deliverables.ย 
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and reliability, learn new engineering processes, and collaborate effectively with project teams under close supervision.ย

ย Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:ย 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineeringor related fieldย 
  • Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.ย 
  • Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineer-ing is a plusย 
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethicย 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalย 
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independentlyย 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlookย
