Overview:


A major healthcare system is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) to join its growing Biomedical Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician looking to build a long-term career with one of Georgia's leading healthcare systems. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a wide variety of medical equipment used throughout the hospital. You'll work closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors to ensure equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support quality patient care. The ideal candidate has strong electronics and troubleshooting background, experience supporting multiple medical equipment modalities, and is comfortable performing electrical safety testing, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Biomedical Equipment Technician experience in a hospital, clinical, warehouse, or healthcare setting.
  • Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Engineering
    • OR Equivalent Military Biomed Tech Program
    • OR Industry recognized certification (CBET, CRES, CLES)
  • Solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including the use of diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Experience working across diverse medical equipment modalities.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and electrical safety testing.
  • Experience supporting network-connected medical devices and understanding basic device connectivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting GE Patient Monitors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Military biomedical equipment maintenance experience
  • CBET certification

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and electrical safety testing on a variety of non-imaging medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure safe patient care.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Support GE patient monitors and other critical clinical equipment throughout the facility.
  • Work closely with nursing staff, clinical teams, IT, and vendors to resolve equipment concerns.
  • Assist with network-connected medical devices and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
