Position Overview:

Are you ready to dive into the world of big data and complex algorithms? We're seeking a Senior Data Analyst/Scientist to become a key technical contributor on our Complex Algorithm Team. If you're passionate about solving complex business and technical problems, working with large-scale data, streamlining data processes, and transforming intricate data into actionable insights, this is the opportunity for you! You'll be working alongside a talented development team, using your advanced SQL and Snowflake expertise, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization to develop and optimize innovative data products and solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth and the ability to independently drive projects from problem definition through implementation and delivery.


What You Will Do:

    • Perform advanced analysis and produce complex data models, insights, and analytics from our Geo-Signals Cloud (big data) in support of the development of our data products.
    • Leverage Snowflake for developing efficient data models, optimizing query performance, and ensuring data is structured appropriately for analytical and product use cases.
    • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data transformations in Snowflake, working with large and complex datasets to support analytics and production data products.
    • Support data improvement and data quality efforts by highlighting and communicating data issues observed when producing data and analytics products.
    • Develop and apply algorithms to identify patterns, extract information, uncover insights, and solve complex analytical problems from complex and noisy datasets.

    Experience:

      • 5+ years of experience in complex data analysis, data science, or a related quantitative field, with a track record of independently driving complex analytical projects.
      • Expert SQL skills, including extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake SQL, working with large and complex production datasets and developing efficient queries for data manipulation and extraction.
      • Strong proficiency in Python and relevant libraries.
      • You have demonstrated experience collecting, cleaning, and transforming data to meet project needs, including implementing frameworks and libraries for product development and machine learning to perform robust analytics.
      • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
      • You are well versed in Microsoft Excel and analysis in general and are also versed in statistical analysis.
      • Strong experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Sisense, ArcGIS, CartoDB, QGIS, or other analytics tools.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills with fluency in English, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations.
      • A positive and adaptable attitude, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
      • Intellectual curiosity, a passion for problem-solving, and a drive to continuously learn and improve.

      We offer competitive salaries and benefits and unlimited PTO. The typical base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and geographic location.
